1978 FJ40

This FJ40 is a dream to drive. I’ve done weekend on-road driving with my family, no offroad since Proffitt’s did work. I drove it from Boseman, MT to Boulder, CO with no problems 3 years / 3,000 miles back. I would have no hesitation to drive this rig out of state, it’s ready to go. This rig has been in Colorado for several owners and spent time in California. Fuel injected SBC 350 from a ’92 Suburban swapped in a couple of owners ago. Unsure of rebuild date, but I can provide compression test info. The previous owner had the following done at Proffitt’s: 2.5″ OME, 33″ Maxxis tires, custom front and rear bumpers, Tuffy lock box, Corbeau seats, a front-facing rear seat. Previous owner had just moved to Montana, I purchased it there and had Overland Cruisers in Belgrade do miscellaneous work before the drive to Colorado (repair speedometer and odometer, wiring cleanup, throttle cable, driveshaft service, throttle body rebuild). L1 Automotive in Loveland CO replaced rotor and fixed idle. I have a headliner but never got around to installing, so I’ll throw that in. The Driver’s side window crank needs replacement. All the shops I’ve used say the frame and body are in good shape, body rust in the usual spots (rear sill, rear corners and fenders). I can send more pics as requested. Odometer shows 94,8XX but it was broken when I purchased it, so it’s not likely accurate.
