Cummins R2.8 Turbo Q&A

repower adventure vehicles

Thank you for your interest in Proffitt’s Resurrection Land Cruisers. We are honored to be a part of the the Cummins Beta Test Program and also the Cummins’ builder program. We just drove 2 of our 2.8l diesel powered Land Cruisers around Colorado with officials from Cummins and had a great time. You can see pictures and gain information about that drive on instagram under @procruiser @cummins and @cumminsrepower and on the Cummins blog here:  repower-adventure

We are getting lots of inquiries about this conversion, and we want to share all of the information that we have that might be helpful for individuals considering an R2.8 for their Land Cruiser or other Toyota. For this reason, we have generated a quick Q & A with answers to the most common questions. Please visit the Q&A here: Cummins Q & A

Also, our next episode of Proffitt’s Resurrection Land Cruisers TV features a head-to-head comparison of a ’96 FZJ80 with the R2.8 with a similarly built, but stock powered FJ80. We put both Land Cruisers to the test in the mountains around our shop in Western Colorado. Subscribe to our YouTube channel and watch for that episode COMING SOON!

Of course, we are always willing to answer any other questions or discuss your Land Cruiser via email or over the phone as well.

Thank You,

Jeremiah

    Hey there
I have a fj55 and have been looking for years for an engine that I could switch out with my tired 2f. I was thinking of the Cummins, but was worried if it could handle the weight with four people and gear. I have a h55 in my garage right now. Can you recommend a direction to take?
    Thanks
    Christiaan
