This seller listing his FJ62 on our site. The vehicle is located in Georgia. We agreed to list this FJ62 despite the fact that it has been altered from its Toyota DNA because of the condition of the body and overall usability. It’s a presentable rig and the seller claims to be able to drive the vehicle daily without issues.
Here are Jeremiah’s personal thoughts about the rig:
“I like this FJ62 because the body is in mostly good shape (noted body damage is in the pictures) It’s got the original paint, which was protected by a wrap for some of the vehicle’s life. The black painted door jambs were most likely done to compliment the color of the wrap, which was grass camo. I suspect that the black paint would be removable with a solvent, and if they didn’t prep the jambs well, the original jamb paint might even be preserved.
The interior is mostly original. The seats and door panels have been partially recovered with new vinyl and some of the original cloth was preserved.
While the 5.7l vortec 4L60e automatic engine conversion might be controversial, it does add practicality. If you are interested in a V8 powered 60 series Land Cruiser, this might be the one for you. The engine conversion appears to have been relatively well done (except for the exhaust) The seller mentioned that the check engine light is on.
It’s getting difficult to find FJ60s or 62s in rust free condition and that have been well taken care of. This 62 has a lot going for it and would be a good restoration candidate, or possibly just a good driver as is.”
The 62 has been fitted with an ARB front bumper and winch, rock sliders, and an ARB roof rack. It’s also got an ARB locking rear differential.
The seller noted several newer parts, including new brakes and suspension bushings. The vehicle is drivable and currently driven for extended drives.
