Well, SEMA 2021 is over and it’s time to get away from the always stressful but fun SEMA push and get back to the equally fun business of building the best Land Cruisers in the world. If you’ve been trying to get ahold of me for the last 3 weeks, you know it’s been difficult. I apologize to everyone that I’ve neglected, forgotten, or postponed! By the end of next week, I should be caught up, but feel free to call or email if I don’t get to you soon enough. You guys are my priority.
In case you are interested. Here is our SEMA recap.
SEMA 2021
This year we brought 3 Land Cruisers to the show. The first, sponsored by Vintage Air, is the newest rig to roll out of the shop. It is a 1976 FJ40 that we stretched 14″. This is one of the coolest Land Cruisers we’ve ever built, so stay tuned for the episode of Proffitt’s Resurrection Land Cruisers TV that features it, as well as its gallery soon to come on the web site. We also took the EMP40 which was sponsored by WARN Industries. The EMP40 is also featured in this month’s edition of 4WD Toyota Owner. Lastly, we took a Cummins R2.8 powered FJ40 for Kenda Tires. Getting 3 rigs ready for SEMA is a big job, but thanks to our dedicated team, we made it!
SEMA means more than just Land Cruisers to us though. This year, My wife and our CFO, Chandra Proffitt, gave a presentation as part of SEMA Education. Her speech will be streamed by SEMA in the coming months. I also presented as part of SEMA Education on our unique production system that we use to work on multiple projects at the same time. That presentation will also be available on line with SEMA Education.
I also continued my role as the judge for the “Truck and Off-Road” category for SEMA Battle of the Builders. The experience has been one of the highlights for me for the last 3 years. The contest is also a TV program that will air on the History Channel later this winter. I’ll let you guys know when it’s going to come out.
Lastly, if you follow us, you might have noticed that this is the first time I’ve actually posted a blog to the site. It’s something I’d like to do consistently, so let me know if you like it, and if there’s a subject you’d like me to cover.
Cheers and Happy Cruising!
Jeremiah Proffitt
